Awe: A four week sermon series on Worship

Have you ever had one of those God moments when you were captivted by the thought there is something far greater than you in your presence? Have you ever been in a church service where you momentarily forget your whereabouts and your focus shifts from you and your situation to God and His resource?  C.S. Lewis said "A good shoe is a shoe you don't notice. Good reading become possible when you need not consciously think about eyes or light, or print, or spelling. The perfect church service would be one we were almost unaware of; our attention would have been on God".

There is a great scripture in Romans that says, "Brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God." It goes on to say that "this is you spiritual act of worship." Mac Powell of the group Third Day said "A lot of times within America, and within the church, we kind of feel like worship is music and lifting our hands and that's a great part of it, but worhsip is not just that. Worship is when we die to ourselves and we allow God to come into our lives and change us and live His life through us. That, to me, is worship".
